to the first interrogatory that he doth very well know Ralph Lunt and Prudence his wife named for the complainants in this suit and hath known them these dozen years or thereabouts and saith that about nine or ten years agone or more this deponent had a shop in Cow Lane in the parish of St Sepulchre without Newgate London of the complainant Ralph Lunt and at one time whilst this deponent continued tenant of the said shop unto the said Ralph he this deponent did sup with the said Ralph Lunt and his wife and other of their friends at the house of the said Ralph Lunt then being in Cow Lane aforesaid and amongst those the friends of the said Ralph Lunt which were then at supper with him as aforesaid there was an ancient country gentlewoman as she seemed to be whom the said Ralph Lunt and his wife called mother and as this deponent afterwards understood the same gentlewoman was the complainant Prudence her own mother and that gentlewoman this deponent doth take to be Rose one of the defendants in this suit and so far forth this deponent doth not know the said Rose and not otherwise but Edw Rosse named for the other defendant this deponent doth not know neither did this deponent know Robt Partridge in this interrogatory named to be the late husband of the said defendant Rose but hath heard him spoken of and that he died in prison but how long since this deponent saith he knoweth not
