six that the said defendant Rose in a sort hath in the presence and hearing of him this deponent and others confessed and acknowledged herself to be indebted unto the said Ralph Lunt for her own diet and lodging at times as aforesaid for the space of thirteen or fourteen years and likewise for the diet and lodging of her said son Robt Partridge for three or four years as for the pains and travail of the said Ralph Lunt in and about her business and also for his attendance aforesaid upon her for this deponent saith that about eight or nine years agone the said defendant Rose being at supper in the house of the said Ralph Lunt with divers others of his friends the said Rose either at the table at the latter end of supper or presently after supper took a cup of wine in her hand and calling unto the said Ralph Lunt drank unto him saying " son Lunt I drink to you with all my heart and do thank you very heartily for all your kindness and love towards me and mine I do not forget what trouble cost and charges I have heretofore put you unto for myself and my friends from time to time but if it please god I will make you amends one day I do promise you here before these your friends to give you 100li for a recompense of all your love and charges " or words to that or like effect
