this indenture made the 20.7.12Jas1 between Wm Adams clerk vicar of White Colne in the county of Essex on the one part and Wm Adams son of the said Wm Adams of the other part witnesseth that the said Wm Adams clerk as well for the natural love and affection which he beareth to the said Wm Adams his son as also for divers other good causes and considerations him thereunto moving hath demised granted and to farm letten and by these presents doth demise grant and to farm let to the said Wm Adams one parcel of ground holden of the manor of Gilberts in Earls Colne in the said county of Essex containing by estimation 20p be it more or less lying and being in Earls Colne aforesaid and abutteth upon the said manor of Gilberts on the east side and upon a certain piece of ground of the said Wm Adams clerk on the west side and upon the king's highway leading to Colchester on the north and upon a pond of the said Wm Adams clerk towards the south and sometime was in the tenure or occupation of one Ellen Ellis widow and now is in the tenure or occupation of Thos Pamplyn and is now wrongfully enjoyed as copyhold by one Thos Prior of Earls Colne aforesaid and Ann his wife notwithstanding that the same is freehold and was sometime parcel of the lands and possessions of one Wm Inman clerk as belonging to certain messuage or tenement of the said Wm Inman which the said Wm Adams clerk purchased from the said Wm Inman to have and to hold the said parcel of ground with the appurtenances unto the said Wm Adams the son his executors administrators and assigns from the day of the date hereof unto the full end and term of four hundred and ninety years from thence next ensuing fully to be complete and ended for the yearly rent of one peppercorn if it be lawfully demanded in witness whereof the parties abovesaid to these indentures interchangeably have set their hands and seals the day and year first above written Wm Adhams
