this indenture made the 17.3.1729 between Wm Russell of North Ockenden in the county of Essex esq of the one part and Jn Morley the younger of Halstead in the said county gentleman of the other part witnesseth that the said Wm Russell for and in consideration of the sum of 12li10s of lawful money of Great Britain to him in hand paid by the said Jn Morley at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof he the said Wm Russell doth hereby acknowledge and thereof and of every part thereof doth quit release and discharge the said Jn Morley his heirs executors and administrators and every of them by these presents and for divers of good causes and considerations in thereunto moving hath granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed released and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien enfeoff release and confirm unto the said Jn Morley his heirs and assigns all that piece or parcel of land or pasture ground containing by estimation 2a20p more or less with the appurtenances being parcel of the field called Great Crabtree field lying and being in Earls Colne in the said county and belonging to a farm called New House Farm as the same is now divided from the said field with a double ditch and bank one side thereof abuts upon the said field called Great Crabtree field towards the east and south and the other side thereof abuts upon Great Oateetch towards the south and west and one end thereof abuts upon Little Westy towards the north and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders thereof and all the estate right title interest property claim and demand whatsoever both in law and equity of him the said Wm Russell of in and to the same every or any part or parcel thereof to have and to hold the said piece or parcel of land or pasture and all and singular other the premises herein mentioned and intended to be hereby granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed released and confirmed with their and every of their appurtenances unto the said Jn Morley his heirs and assigns to the only use and behoof of the said Jn Morley his heirs and assigns forever and the said Wm Russell doth for himself his heirs executors and administrators and every of them covenant promise and agree to and with the said Jn Morley his heirs and assigns and every of them by these presents in manner and form following that is to say that he the said Wm Russell at the time of ensealing and delivery of these presents is a true and lawful owner or proprietor of the same granted enfeoffed and released premises with the appurtenances and now is and standeth lawfully and rightfully seised of same of a good sure absolute and indefeasible estate of inheritance in fee simple to the use of himself and his heirs and that he now hath in himself good right and full power and lawful and absolute authority to grant enfeoff and convey the same premises with the appurtenances unto the said Jn Morley his heirs and assigns in manner and form aforesaid and further that all and every of the said premises with the appurtenances shall or lawfully may from time to time and for all times forever hereafter be peaceably and quietly holden and enjoyed by the said Jn Morley his heirs and assigns according to the true intent and meaning of these presents without let suit trouble eviction disturbance or interruption of the said Wm Russell his heirs or assigns or any other person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim by from or under him them or any of them and that free and clear and freely and clearly acquitted exonerated and discharged or otherwise well and sufficiently saved defended kept harmless and indemnified by the said Wm Russell his heirs or assigns of from and against all manner or form of former gift grants bargains sales leases jointures dowers titles of dower mortgages uses wills entails statutes judgements executions extents recognizances fines post fines forfeitures issues amercements rents arrearages of rent and of and from all other titles troubles charges and encumbrances whatsoever had made committed done or suffered or to be had made committed done or suffered by the said Wm Russell his heirs or assigns or any other person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim by from or under him them or any of them the rents customs and services from henceforth to grow due and payable to the chief lord or lords of the fee or fees of whom the said premises are holden for or in respect of the tenure thereof only excepted and foreprised and lastly that he the said Wm Russell his heirs and assigns and all and every other person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim any estate right title or interest of in or to the said premises or any part thereof by from or under him them or any of them shall and will from time to time and at all times hereafter upon every reasonable request and at the proper cost and charges in the law of the said Jn Morley his heirs and assigns make do acknowledge levy execute and suffer or cause and procure to be made done acknowledged levied executed and suffered all and every such further and other lawful and reasonable act and acts thing and things devises conveyances and assurances in the law whatsoever for the further better more perfect and absolute assuring settling establishing and confirming the aforesaid granted enfeoffed and conveyed piece or parcel of land or pasture ground with the appurtenances unto and upon the said Jn Morley his heirs and assigns forever as by the said Jn Morley his heirs or assigns or his or their counsel learned in the law shall be reasonably devised or advised and required in witness whereof the parties first above named to these present indentures their hands and seals interchangeably have set the day and year first above written Wm Russell
