the final agreement made in the court of our sovereign lord the king at Westminster on the morrow of the ascension of our lord 10Geo2 before Jn Willis Alex Denton Jn Comyns and Jn Fortescue lord justices and afterwards of the morrow of the holy trinity of the said year of the reign of the same king Geo there allowed and recorded before the same justices etc and others then there present between Eliz Clifford widow plaintiff and Wm Towle and Eliz his wife deforciants of 36a of wood with appurtenances in Earls Colne whereupon a plea of covenant was summoned between them in the same court that is to say that the said Wm and Eliz his wife have acknowledged the foresaid tenement with appurtenances to be the right of her the said Eliz Clifford as those which the said Eliz hath of the gift of the said Wm and Eliz his wife and those they have remised and quitclaimed from them the said Wm and Eliz his wife and their heirs to the aforesaid Eliz Clifford and her heirs forever and moreover the said Wm and Eliz his wife have granted for them and the heirs of the said Eliz that they will warrant to the said Eliz Clifford and her heirs the aforesaid tenement with appurtenances against them the said Wm and Eliz his wife and the heirs of the said Eliz forever and for this acknowledgement remise quitclaim and warranty fine and agreement the said Eliz Clifford hath given the said Wm and Eliz his wife 60li sterling
