8.12.1606 by deed of poll of that date signed and sealed by Hen de Veer earl of Oxford but unattested by the said earl appointed Wm Adams of Earls Colne in Essex master of arts by himself or his sufficient deputy to teach the free grammar school in Earls Colne aforesaid during the life of the said Wm Adams and authorized him the said Wm Adams and his deputy or assignee to demand and receive the yearly rent of 20li10s out of certain lands and tenements in Ardley Stisted Marks Tey Messing and Coggeshall in Essex that is to say the yearly rent of 6li13s4d reserved out of certain lands and tenements called Fenhouse in Ardley aforesaid the like yearly rent of 6li13s4d reserved out of certain lands and tenements called Pickstones in Stisted aforesaid also the yearly rent of 4li reserved out of certain lands and tenements in Messing aforesaid also the yearly rent 2li reserved out of certain lands and tenements called Potts in Marks Tey aforesaid also 1li3s4d reserved out of a house in Coggeshall aforesaid by one indenture of lease theretofore made to one Simon Ive see the copy of exceptions
