this indenture made the 11.5.1680 etc between Jn Cressener the younger citizen and grocer of London of the one part and Jas Standish of Hatton Garden in the county of Middlesex esq and Jn Cressener the elder citizen and grocer of London of the other part witnesseth that the said Jn Cressener younger for and in consideration of the sum of 10s of lawful money of England to him in hand paid before the ensealing and deliver of these presents by the said Jas Standish and Jn Cressener the elder whereof and wherewith he the said Jn Cressener the younger doth acknowledge himself to be fully satisfied contented and paid and thereof and of every part and parcel thereof doth clearly acquit and discharge the said Jas Standish Jn Cressener the elder and either of them their and either of their heirs executors and administrators by these presents have bargained and sold and doth by these presents bargain and sell unto the said Jas Standish and Jn Cressener the elder all those messuages lands tenements and hereditaments with their and every of their appurtenances hereinafter mentioned that is to say all the freehold messuage or tenement and freehold lands of the said Jn Cressener the younger called Chandlers situate and being in the parish of Earls Colne in the tenure and occupation of the said Jn Cressener the younger and of Wm Booles or either of them their or either of their undertenants and assigns all that mill messuage or tenement situate and being in Sherriffs Colne Engaine in the tenure and occupation of Wm Hull or his assigns or that farm or tenement called Melbrooke situate and being in Sherriffs Colne Engaine aforesaid and in the tenure and occupation of Wm Webb or his assigns all that farm or tenement situate and being in White Colne in the tenure and occupation of Jas Walford or his assigns all those Hall Meadows and crofts situate and being in Earls Colne aforesaid in the tenur e and occupation of Geo Heyward or his assigns all that farm called Crofts and woods by the same and thereto belonging situate and being in Sherriffs Colne Engaine aforesaid and now or late in the tenure or occupation of the said Jn Cressener the younger and the said Geo Heyward or either of them their or either of their undertenants and assigns with their and every of their appurtenances all which said messuages farms lands tenements and hereditaments with their appurtenances are situate and being in the county of Essex and all those messuages tofts lands and tenements except the brewhouse there situate and being in Golding Lane either within or without the liberties of London in the parish of St Gyles Cripplegate in the several tenures and occupations of Sam Baker Robt Cocker Joan Foster Wm Gibson and Eliz his wife Mary Hooper Thos Gibbins Thos Gill widow Marchin and widow Pateman and every of them their or any of their undertenants or assigns with all lights easements courts yards backsides entries ways passages watercourses profits commodities and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or therewith occupied and enjoyed all which said messuages or tenements in Golding Lane do adjoin altogether and reach from a tenement called Ball Inn north unto Cupid's Alley end south and were heretofore purchased by Geo Cressener father of the said Jn Cressener from Wm Sleyford of Obthorpe in the county of Lincoln esq and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders thereof and of every part thereof to have and to hold all and singular the said messuages lands tenements hereditaments and premises with their and every of their appurtenances unto the said Jas Standish and Jn Cressener the elder their executors administrators and assigns from the day next before the day of the date hereof unto the full end and term of one whole year from thence next ensuing and fully to be complete and ended yielding and paying therefore unto the said Jn Cressener the younger and his heirs one peppercorn at the feast of annunciation.next ensuing the date hereof if the same be lawfully demanded to the only intent that the said Jas Standish and Jn Cressener the elder and their heirs maybe thereby capable to take a grant of reversion and inheritance of the premises and be in the actual seisin and possession thereof by virtue of the statute made for transferring uses into possession in witness whereof the parties first above named have hereunto interchangeably set their hands and seals the day and year first above written Jn Cressener sealed and delivered in the presence of us Sam Sankey Steph Marsh
