this indenture made 23.3.1710 witnesseth that Isaac Potter and Jn Brewster churchwardens and Edm Osborn and Jn Last junior overseers of the poor of Earls Colne with the consent of Jn Cressener and Jn Eldred esq two justices of the peace have by these presents put and bound Wm Sexton aged 15yrs being a poor fatherless and motherless child apprentice to and with Jn Wistoe of Wakes Colne yeoman and as an apprentice to dwell and serve from and after the date hereof until the said Wm Sexton come to the age of twenty four years during all which time he shall serve his master etc and Jn Wistoe covenants to allow him meat and drink etc and after the term to give him two decent suits of apparel etc mark Jn Wistoe Jn Brewster Isaac Potter churchwardens Jn Last Edm Osborn overseers justices of the peace Jn Cressener Jn Eldred sealed and delivered the paper being first stamped with two 6d stamps in the presence of us Gilb Smith Jn Paine Sam Burton
