this indenture made 2.12.1714 witnesseth that Ambrose Stowers and Wm Peartree churchwardens and Thos Tiffin and Jn Patterick overseers of the poor of Earls Colne with the consent of two justices of the peace have put and placed Sarah Haward a poor child of the said parish apprentice to Wm Alabaster of Saxmundham Suffolk carpenter with him to dwell until she is twenty one years and to serve faithfully etc Wm Alabaster covenants to teach her the art of housewifery or cause her to be instructed therein and shall feed and lodge her and at the end of the term provide double apparel etc Wm Alabaster witnesses Wm Payne Chas Mounsur justices of the peace J Sparrow Jn Cressener
