the will of Rich Nicholl of Earls Colne in the name of god amen the 6.9.1531 I Rich Nicholl of Earls Colne in the diocese of London being in good memory do ordain and make this my last will and testament in this form following first I bequeath my soul to almighty god to lady saint mary and to all the holy company of heaven and my body to be buried in the churchyard of St Andrews in Earls Colne item I bequeath to the high altar of the same church for my tithes forgotten or withholden 12d item I bequeath to Eliz my daughter at home with me my red bullock in the keeping of Jn Estey two brass pots six pewter dishes and a bed item I bequeath to Agnes my wife all the residue of my household stuff and hostilments except a piece of silver and a maser bound with silver and gilt those with all mine other goods movable and unmovable my tenements and lands in Boxsted and my eight stalls in Colchester I will them to the disposition of mine executors to bring me in earth and to pay my debts and the overplus thereof to be equally divided between mine other three children and each of them to be the others heirs so that any of them die before they marry item I will if that my debts owing me with mine other movable goods be not sufficient to pay my debts and other charges that then I will that my tenements and lands in Boxsted be sold by mine executors for the performance of the same whom I ordain and make Robt Abell prior of Colne and Jn Estey witness don Jn Bilston monk Jn Leffingwell Harry Pollyn and Robt Barby
