in the name of god amen the day of delivery the year 1555 I Wm Bruer of Much Tey in the county of Essex and in the diocese of London being whole of mind and sick of body ordain and make this my present testament and last will in manner and form hereafter following first I bequeath my soul to almighty god our lady saint mary and to all the holy company of heaven and my body to be buried in the churchyard of Much Tey aforesaid also I bequeath to Joan my wife my house and land called Lambartts with the appurtenances thereunto belonging within the parishes of Much Tey and Pontisbright both free and copy by the leave of the lord during her life and after her decease to Jn my son also I bequeath to Joan my wife my lands in Earls Colne all the fields called Slowe Feld and Debenham by the law of the lord and after her decease to Sam my son item I will that Joan my wife shall pay or cause to be paid to Alice and Joan my two eldest of daughters each of them 3li of good and lawful money within two years after my decease and also to Eliz my daughter 3li and to Marge my daughter 3li when they shall be of 20yr of age and every of them to be the others heir also I will that if Jn and Sam my two sons shall chance to decease without lawful issue that then the said lands to remain to my daughters also if Joan my wife shalt chance to decease and my two sons not as to lawful age then I will that Xoph Walton my son in law shalt have the order of them and of the foresaid lands for the time of their nonage all the residue of my goods movable and unmovable not given nor bequeathed I give them to Joan my wife to pay my debts and legacies and I ordain and make her my executrix and Xoph Walton my executor and I give to the said Xoph for his pains and labour 3s4d also I ordain and make the right worshipful mr Jn Damott the supervisor of this my present testament and last will witnesses hereof Ralph Wylson clerk Jn Sheppe alias Hylls Jn Alyn Jn Raditts Wm May with others
