in the name of god amen the 14.8.1558 in the presence of us Jn Petfeld clerk Albon Bridge Steph Stokes Wm Byggs Thos Wreight with others Walt Harvye sick in body but of perfect memory commended his soul to the blessed trinity and to all the holy company of heaven and his body to be buried in the churchyard of Earls Colne and said thus I give said he to Thos Hervy my son all my movable goods and a piece of land lying in Erdley which I late purchased of one Abell of Colchester and also he said if my son Hen Harvye have my hand and seal at the writing that he saith according to the law as he saith then I will he shall have my lands to him and his heirs forever without interruption but if he have not my hand and seal according to the law at the said writing then I will the said lands and my other lands and all my goods be parted between my said sons part and part like and I will that they agree between them like brethren moreover he said I make my two said sons my executors this will we the foresaid witnesses testify before what judge or judges it shall fortune us to be called for the same Jn Petfeld writer Albon Bridge
