in the name of god amen the 24.10.1627 etc. I Kath Greene of Earls Colne in the county of Essex and diocese of London widow being in good and perfect mind and remembrance I give god thanks therefore I do make ordain and declare this my present testament containing herein my last will in manner and form following and I do hereby utterly renounce and revoke all former will by me heretofore made whatsoever first I commend my soul into the hands of almighty god the father the son and the holy ghost with an assured faith and confident hope of eternal salvation and blessedness amongst all the elect and holy saints of god in and through the merits and passion of jesus christ my only saviour and redeemer and my body to be decently buried in the churchyard of Earls Colne according to my degree item I give and bequeath unto Ann Fish of Halstead my daughter the full sum 3li of good lawful money of England which her husband oweth me out of which said sum I will that Thos Fish her husband my son in law shall pay unto his two sons Thos and Jn my grandchildren the full sum of 10s apiece of good and lawful money of England item I give and bequeath also unto my said daughter Ann Fish the full sum of 10s of good and lawful money of England to be paid unto her presently after my decease by mine executrix item I give and bequeath unto Jane the wife of Thos Man my daughter the full sum of 6li of good and lawful money of England which the (torn) condition that the said Thos Man shall pay unto her children the sum of 10s apiece of good and lawful (torn) of England so soon as they shall accomplish their several ages of 18yr or day of marriage (torn) first shall happen moreover I give and bequeath unto the said Jane my daughter a half headed bedstead (torn) belongeth to the same and my great cupboard two hutches a close stool and the (torn) belonging to the same one (torn) my joined table my whole and half my pewter my little kettle and the least posnet the little chafing dish (torn) unto my said daughter Jane the plank lying under the yard window the hall and my settle in the (torn) with the fire pan tongs and gridiron and (torn) all the rest of my goods unbequeathed my debts being paid and my funeral discharged I give and bequeath unto Grace Potter my daughter upon this condition that my son in law Jn Potter shall pay unto his five children the full sum of 10s apiece of good and lawful money of England item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Jane all my wearing apparel and two pairs of sheets and one pair of cobirons and I do make Grace Potter my daughter my only sole executrix of this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto put to my hand and seal the day and year first above written item I give and bequeath to Robt Polley the sexton the sum of 2s read sealed subscribed and delivered in the presence of us Wm Adams writer Barth Church mark Kath Greene
