in the name of god amen I Robt Polley of Earls Colne in the county of Essex being sick in body but of perfect remembrance and in good and perfect mind do make this my last will and testament declaring therein and thereby my full mind and meaning as followeth first I give and bequeath my soul into the hands of almighty god my creator and redeemer with a full trust assurance and confidence through the death and passion of jesus christ to have full pardon and remission of all my sins and my offences and for the worldly goods in which it hath pleased god of his goodness to bless me withal first I give and bequeath unto Rose Newton my mother 20s of good and lawful money of England to be paid within one month next after my decease to be paid by my executor item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Polley 5li of like current money of England to be paid by my executor within three months next after my decease item I give and bequeath more unto the said Mary Polley my cupboard which doth stand now in my parlour and one brass pot which I bought of my brother Adam Polley to be delivered unto her within three months next after my decease and also I give and bequeath unto the said Mary Polley three pewter dishes marked with A and B which were my other wife's to be delivered to her within three months next after my decease as is aforesaid and also I give and bequeath unto the said Mary Polley one little chest which was her mother's to be delivered to her as is aforesaid item I give and bequeath to four of my kinsmen that is to say Jn Read Thos Prior Andrew Kettell and Robt Kettell 12d apiece for to carry my body to the earth to be paid when as my body is decently buried of that day all my other movable goods of what sort and kind soever I give and bequeath unto Joan Polley my now wife and I do make her my sole executor to see my body decently buried and my last will and testament fully performed and accomplished and all my debts to be paid by her according to the true purport and meaning whereof and I do ordain and make Jn Read and Israel Enowes my friends supervisors of this my last will and testament and I do give and bequeath unto them for their pains 12d apiece of good and lawful money of England to be paid within one month next after my decease in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand the 8.12.1627 etc. Robt Polley Jn Read Edw Nuton
