in the name of god amen the 18.12.1637 etc. I Nath Browne of Earls Colne in the county of Essex yeoman being sick in body but of good and perfect memory thanks be to almighty god do make this my last will and testament declaring therein and thereby my full mind and purpose in manner and form following first and principally I give and bequeath my soul into the hands of almighty god my creator and redeemer with an assured trust and confidence through the death and passion of my lord and saviour jesus christ to have full pardon and remission of all my sins and offences and for that part and portion of worldly goods in which it hath pleased god of his great goodness to bless me withal item I give and bequeath Nath Browne my father 40s of good and lawful money of England to be paid unto him within one month next after my decease to be paid unto him by my executor item I give and bequeath unto Thos Browne my eldest brother 3li of like money of England to be paid unto him within one month next after my decease by my executor item I give and bequeath more unto the said Thos Browne my best suit of apparel two bands a pair of jersey stockings and my best girdle item I give and bequeath unto my brother Rich Browne my stuff suit my best cloth coat two pairs of stockings two pairs of my best boots two pairs of my best shoes and a shirt and two bands item I give and bequeath unto Robt Browne my brother 10s of like money of England to be paid unto him within one month next after my decease by my executor item I give and bequeath unto my three sisters Sarah Ann and Alice 20s of like money of England to be equally divided amongst them within one month next after my decease to be paid them by my executor item I give and bequeath unto my fellow Edw Clarke my cloth coat which I now wear to be delivered to him presently after my decease item I give and bequeath unto Jn Hauksbee minister of Earls Colne 5s of like money of England to be paid unto him at my funeral by my executor item I give and bequeath unto Jn Browne my brother 5li15s of like money of England also I do ordain and make the said Jn Browne my sole and whole executor to see my body decently buried in christian burial my funeral charges paid and this my last will and testament well and truly performed in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day month and year first above written sealed signed and delivered in the presence of us Jn Read Edw Clarke mark Nath Browne
