memorandum that upon sunday being the 17.3.1639 last past Margt Ellis widow of Earls Colne lying at that time sick in her bed and being in good and perfect memory did use these words following viz that first she would have all her debts paid and then she would that if any thing were spared that they every one of her children should have every one of them a pewter dish and that her daughter Rose should have above which stood then at the bedstead and did appoint Joseph Slack her son to be her executor to perform her will and this was done in the presence of us whose names are hereunder written mark Wm Death Wm Adams
