in the name of god amen the 27.9.1644 etc I Jn Person of White Colne in the county of Essex and in the diocese of London yeoman being aged and weak in body but of good and perfect remembrance thanks be given unto almighty god therefore do make ordain and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following hereby utterly revoking all former wills by me heretofore made whatsoever first I give and bequeath my soul in the hands of almighty god my creator trusting assuredly in the merits and satisfaction of my lord and saviour jesus christ to have the full free pardon and remission of all my sins and to inherit eternal life and my body to the earth from whence it came to be buried in decent sepulchre in the churchyard of the parish of Earls Colne and for that part and portion of worldly goods wherewith it hath pleased the lord in mercy to bless me withal item I give and bequeath unto my well beloved wife Jane Person and to her heirs forever all that my customary messuage or tenement barns yards and gardens thereunto belonging with their and every of their appurtenances called by the name or names of Crackebons alias Gylders situate lying and being in White Colne aforesaid item I give and bequeath unto Joan my eldest daughter the sum of 12d of lawful money of England to be paid unto her within one month next after my decease by my executrix hereafter mentioned item I give and bequeath unto my other four daughters the full and entire sum of 2s6d apiece of lawful money of England to be paid unto them within one month next also after my decease that is to say 2s6d unto Kath 2s6d unto Rose 2s6d unto Edith and 2s6d unto Ann all which said several sums are to be paid to the several persons on the day aforesaid by my executrix hereafter mentioned all the rest of my movable goods chattels cattle household stuff and implements of household whatsoever not before bequeathed my debts and legacies being paid and funeral expenses discharged I give and bequeath unto the said Jane Person my said loving wife whom I make and ordain to be my sole executrix of this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written read sealed published and declared to be my last will and testament in the presence of us Ambr Waller Jane Ward by me Jn Reade mark Jn Person
