in the name of god amen the 1.6.1660 etc. I Jn Eastland the elder of Earls Colne in the county of Essex carpenter being aged yet of good and perfect mind and memory praised be god therefore and considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time and hour thereof do therefore make and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say first and principally I commend my soul into the hands of almighty god that gave it and my body to the earth whence it was taken in assured hope of a joyful resurrection by and through the only death merit and bloodshed of jesus christ my only saviour and redeemer and as concerning the worldly estate which god in mercy hath lent me I give and dispose thereof as followeth imprimis I give and bequeath unto my wife Mary Eastland all that my house and yard with their appurtenances now in my occupation situate lying and being in Earls Colne aforesaid to have and to hold the said house and yard with their appurtenances unto my said wife Mary Eastland from and immediately after my death or departure out of this mortal life for and during her natural life and no longer item I give and bequeath unto my said wife Mary Eastland all and singular my goods household stuff and things now remaining and being or which at the time of my decease shall remain and be in and about the said house and yard to have and to hold the said goods household stuff and things unto my said wife Mary Eastland from and immediately after my decease or departure out of this mortal life for and during her natural life and my will and mind is that my said wife Mary Eastland shall not any time after my decease embezzle sell make away or dispose of any of my goods household stuff and things which at the time of my decease shall remain and be in or about the said house or yard and after the decease of my said wife Mary Eastland then I give and bequeath the said house and yard with their appurtenances and all and singular the said goods household stuff and things and all and every deeds evidences and writings touching and concerning the premises unto my loving son Jn Eastland to have and to hold the said house and yard with their appurtenances and the said goods household stuff and things and the said deeds evidences and writings unto my said son Jn Eastland from and immediately after the death or departure out of this mortal life of my said wife Mary Eastland to the only proper use and uses behoof and behoofs of my said son Jn Eastland and his heirs executors administrators and assigns forever therewith and with every part and parcel of them to do and dispose at his and their free wills and pleasures and I do make and ordain my said son Jn Eastland sole and only executor of this my last will and testament in witness whereof I the said Jn Eastland testator to this my present last will and testament containing four sheets of paper which I have set my hand and seal to every she et the day and year above said Jn Eastland his mark signed sealed delivered published pronounced and declared by the said Jn Eastland the testator for and as his last will and testament in the presence of Rich Lewknor Zorobi Parker sent to Jn Underwood notary public
