in the name of god amen the 24.4.1660 I Robt Davie late of Earls Colne in the county of Essex butcher being sick and weak of body but of good and perfect mind and remembrance thanks be to god therefore do make ordain and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following item I give unto Robt Davie my son all that my copyhold messuage and tenement with the appurtenances thereto belonging called by the name of Senakers or any other names whatsoever to have and to hold to him and his heirs forever item I give unto my said son Robt 12d of lawful english money to be paid to him by my hereafter named executrices item I give and bequeath unto my son Wm Davie the house where I lately lived called the Blew Bore or by any other name or names whatsoever with all the appurtenances thereto belonging as the same are now standing and being in Earls Colne to have and to hold to him and his heirs forever item I give to my said son Wm the sum of 12d of lawful english money to be paid to him by my after named executrices item I give and bequeath unto Margt Neuton the wife of Sam Neuton my daughter the sum of 40li of current english money item I give and bequeath unto Ann Bretton the now wife of Joseph Bretton of Braintree the like sum of 40li of lawful english money item I give unto Eliz Turner another of my daughters the like sum of 40li of current english money to be paid to her within twelvemonth next ensuing after my decease by my executrices item I give and bequeath unto the three eldest children of my son Wm Davie the sum of 10li apiece to be paid to them at their several ages of 21yr by my executrices and my mind and will is that if any of the said three children die before the age of 21yr and without issue of their body that then the said legacy or legacies shall remain to Robt the youngest son of Wm Davie to be paid to him at the same time it should have been done had the other lived item I give to Robt Davie the son of Wm Davie before mentioned the sum of 40s to be paid to him at the age of 21yr by my executrices item I give and bequeath unto all the rest of my grandchildren the several sums of 40s apiece to be paid to them as they shall attain their several ages of 21yr to be paid by my executrices item I give unto my sister Eliz Marshall the sum of 20s of current money to be paid to her within one year next ensuing after my decease by my executrices item I give and bequeath unto my sister Cannome the sum of 10s of current english money to be paid to her within one year next ensuing after my decease by my executrices item I give and bequeath all my household stuff linen and woollen to be equally divided amongst my three daughters that is to say Margt Ann and Eliz as two honest men that they shall make choice of shall think meet and my will is that my executrices shall have a fortnights liberty in the house called the Blew Bore after my decease all the rest of my goods whatsoever and wheresoever bills bonds debts dues and demands ready monies my debts and legacies being paid and funeral expenses discharged I give and bequeath unto Margt Neuton and Ann Bretton which said Margt Neuton and Ann Bretton I do make and ordain to be my only joint executrices to this my last will and testament charging them that the same be fulfilled according to the true intent and meaning hereof in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day month and year first above written sealed and delivered and declared in the presence of us Robt Niccoll Nath Wenden mark Robt Davie
