in the name of god the 28.3.1662 etc. I Eliz Nevill of Chappell alias Pontisbright in the county of Essex gentlewoman being weak and frail in body but of good and perfect mind and remembrance I give god thanks and praise therefore I do make ordain and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following and I do hereby utterly renounce and revoke all and every other will and wills by me heretofore made whatsoever first and principally I commit my soul into the merciful hands of almighty god the father my creator and to his forever blessed and beloved son jesus christ my redeemer and to the holy ghost my comforter and my body to the earth from whence it was taken to be decently buried in christian sepulchre according to my degree and for that part and portion of worldly goods wherewith it hath pleased the lord out of his free favour and love to endow me withal here in this transitory life I do give and bequeath as followeth item I give and bequeath unto Jn Morley and Mary his loving wife my eldest sister and their heirs forever all my copyhold lands called Tuck Lands and Harwood Lands and 1a of meadow thereunto belonging lying in Chappell alias Pontisbright aforesaid holden of the manor of Much Tey in the said county containing in all by estimation 8a be it more or less as the same is now in the tenure and occupation of the said Jn Morley or his assigns item I give and bequeath unto Grissegon the now wife of Hen Wales my sister the full sum of 10li of good and lawful money of England to be paid unto her within one year next ensuing after my death by mine executor upon her lawful demand of the same item I give and bequeath unto Bridget the now wife of Jn Serjante clerk now curate of Chappell alias Pontisbright aforesaid the full sum of 20li of good and lawful money of England to be paid unto her within two years next ensuing after my death by mine under named executor upon her lawful demand of the same item I give and bequeath unto Margt the now wife of Math Butcher of Hedingham Castle in the said county gent my youngest sister the full sum of 10li of the like lawful money of England to be paid unto her within one year next ensuing after my death by mine under named executor upon her lawful demand of the same all the rest of my goods whatsoever or wheresoever unbequeathed my debts and legacies being paid and my body decently buried I do give and bequeath unto the said Jn Morley my brother in law and unto the said Mary his wife my loving sister and I do make the said Jn Morley to be my only sole executor to this my last will and testament and lastly I will and my true intent and meaning that if it shall happen that any of my said sisters' husbands shall be discontented with their legacies or portions before above herein by me given and bequeathed unto their said wives my sisters and shall raise strife or contention or move any suit in law against the said Jn Morley my under named executor upon any pretence or colour whatsoever that then I do give and bequeath unto the wife of such person so contending but the sum of 12d and no more in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day month and year above written sealed acknowledged published and declared to be her last will and testament in the presence of us Wm Adams writer Thos King mark Susan Warner mark Eliz Nevill
