in the name of god amen the 25.9.1668 I Thos Harvy of Earls Colne in the county of Essex yeoman being sick and weak of body but of good and perfect mind and remembrance thanks be unto almighty god therefore do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following first I commend my soul into the hands of the almighty god and my body to the earth from whence it was taken in hope of joyful resurrection amongst the saints to life everlasting and for that portion of worldly goods god in this life have bestowed of me I dispose of as followeth item give unto Rosamund my wife all that my copyhold messuage or tenement situate and being in the parish of Earls Colne and four crofts of customary land belonging to the same all holding by copy of court roll of the manor of Colne Priory to the only use and behoof of Rosamund my wife and to her heirs forever all the rest of my worldly goods whatsoever or wheresoever my debts being paid and my funeral expenses discharged I give and bequeath unto Rosamund my well beloved wife whom I do make and ordain to be my only sole executrix to this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day month and year first above written sealed and delivered and declared to be his last will and testament revoking all former wills whatsoever sealed and delivered in the presence of Mich Hayward Giles Crow Thos Harvy
