in the name of god amen I Robt Crowe of Earls Colne in the county of Essex yeoman being of perfect mind and remembrance for which I give hearty thanks to almighty god but for as much as I am mortal and know not the day of my death to the end I may leave a remembrance of my love to several of my friends while I live and dispose of my estate according to my own good liking I do this 10.1.1671 make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following revoking and disannulling hereby all former wills and testaments by me made first and above all I commit my soul into the hands of my gracious god and father trusting with my whole soul through the merits and righteousness of the lord jesus christ my blessed saviour to be made partaker of an eternal inheritance that fadeth not away my body I leave until the blessed resurrection of the just to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my executor herein named and for that portion of worldly goods that god hath given me I thus dispose first I bequeath and give to Rich Harlakenden esq and Mary his wife each of them a gold ring and a pair of gloves item I give and bequeath to all the gentlemen and gentlewomen and all the servants then living at the Priorie in Earls Colne each of them a pair of gloves and to mrs Colier and mrs Mary Harlakenden each of them a pair of gloves item I give and bequeath to my loving friends Hen Mildmay of Graces esq a gold ring of the value of 20s with a pair of gloves I give to Phinehas Reeve of Markshall a pair of gloves item I give and bequeath to Thos Josselin son of Ralph Josselin of Earls Colne vicar 3li of lawful money of England to be paid within six months after my decease item I give to Mary the wife of Robt Finch with whom I now live the bed and bedstead with all appertaining thereunto as they are now in the house item I give and bequeath to the poor of the parish of Earls Colne the sum of 40s and I do nominate and appoint my loving brother Giles Crowe my sole executor of this my last will and testament to whom I give my house called the George situate in Earls Colne and all my movable goods therein to him and to his heirs forever together with all my goods not herein bequeathed entreating him of his love faithfully to fulfil this my will in all particulars in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day month and year above written published and declared to be the will and testament of me Robt Crowe in the presence of Ralph Josselin Jn Finch Robt Crow
