in the name of god amen the 15.3.1680 I Robt Payne alias Allin of Earls Colne in the county of Essex husbandman being sick and weak of body but of perfect mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following item I give and bequeath unto Jn Payne my son and to his heirs and assigns forever all that my copyhold messuage or tenement with all and singular the appurtenances now in the occupation of Thos Androws lying and being in Earls Colne aforesaid and holding of the same manor upon this condition following that he the said Jn Payne his heirs executors or assigns shall pay or cause to be paid unto Grace Payne my loving wife within six months next after my decease the full and just sum of 4li of lawful money of England and also the sum of 6li of the like lawful money unto my daughter Rosamund the wife of Jn Pewter within six months next after my decease as aforesaid but if the said Jn Payne my son his heirs executors administrators or assigns do not or shall not pay the aforesaid sums herein expressed and by me given according to the true intent and meaning of these presents that then my will and mind is that the said Grace my said wife and Rosamund my said daughter their executors or assigns shall enter upon the said demised premises and the same to hold and enjoy until the said sums before expressed be fully satisfied and paid item I give and bequeath unto Grace Payne my said wife during the term of her natural life all that my messuage or tenement with the appurtenances now in the occupation of Jas Allin lying in Earls Colne aforesaid and after her decease I give the same unto Grace Payne my youngest daughter and the heirs of her body lawfully begotten and their heirs forever but if the said Grace Payne my daughter should happen to die without such issue as aforesaid and that Grace Payne my said wife should survive the aforesaid Grace my daughter then I give the said tenement and appurtenances to the said Grace my wife and her heirs and assigns forever item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Rosamund the wife of Jn Pewter aforesaid all that my messuage or tenement with the appurtenances wherein I now dwell and to her heirs and assigns forever item I give and bequeath unto the said Rosamund Pewter my great kettle and one pewter dish item I give and bequeath unto Robt Payne my son my great cupboard and one pewter dish and also all the rest of my goods and chattels herein and hereby by me not bequeathed I give and dispose unto Grace Payne my said wife whom I do make my sole executrix to this my last will and testament and I do hereby utterly disallow and make void annul and revoke all and every other former will and wills testaments legacies and bequests and executors by me in any wise before this time named ratifying and confirming this and none other to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written signed sealed published and declared in the presence of us and read in the presence of him the said Robt Payne alias Allin to be his last will and testament Sam Burton Jn Josselin mark Sam Payne mark Edw Payne mark Robt Payne alias Allin
