know all men by these presents we Dan Smyth of Halsted in the county of Essex yeoman and Hen Adams of Earls Colne in the county of Essex yeoman are held and firmly bound to the venerable Robt Wood doctor of laws in and for the whole archdeaconry of Colchester official lawfully appointed in 200li of good and lawful money of Great Britain to be paid to the same venerable man or his certain attorney executors administrators or assigns to making which payment well and faithfully we bind ourselves and each of us for the whole sum and by these presents firmly bind our heirs executors and administrators given and sealed with our seals the 29.12.1714 signed sealed and delivered in the presence of Phil Betts Dan Smith Hen Adams jun the condition of this obligation is such that if Mary Smyth niece of the within bounden Dan Smyth legatee named in the last will and testament of Martha King late of Earls Colne in the parish of Earls Colne in the county of Essex deceased and administratrix of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased with the said will annexed do make or cause to be made a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased which have or shall come to her hands possession or knowledge and the same so made do exhibit or cause to be exhibited into the registry of the archdeaconry of Colchester aforesaid at or before the 31.3.next ensuing and the same goods chattels and credits do well and truly administer that is to say do pay the debts of the said deceased which she did owe at her decease and then the legacies contained in the said will annexed to the said letters of administration so to her committed as far as her goods chattels and credits will thereto extend and the law charge her and further do make or cause to be made a true and just account of her said administration when she shall be thereunto lawfully required and all the rest and residue of the said goods chattels and credits which shall be found remaining upon her said account and not otherwise disposed of in the said will examined and allowed of by the judge of the said court for the time being shall distribute and dispose in such manner and form as shall be limited by the direction of the said judge and lastly do at all times hereafter clearly acquit discharge and save harmless the within named Mary Smyth the said judge and all other officers of the said court against all persons having or pretending to have any right title or interest unto the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased then this obligation to be void and of none effect or else to remain in full force and virtue
