in the name of god amen I Cath Kent of White Colne in the county of Essex widow being aged and infirm in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory thanks be to almighty god and (sic) and do make and ordain this to be my last will and testament in manner following that is to say first of all I give and devise unto my nephew Jos King of Sible Hedingham in the county of Essex aforesaid weaver all that my copyhold messuage or tenement with all the lands and hereditaments whatsoever to the same belonging with the appurtenances situate lying and being in the parish of Colne Engaine in the said county of Essex and now in the occupation of Jn Bridge his assignee or assignees to hold unto the said Jos King his heirs and assigns forever also I give and devise unto the said Jos King his heirs and assigns forever all that my freehold messuage or tenement hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging situate and being in Pebmarsh in the said county of Essex now in the occupation of Thos Pond or his assigns also I give and bequeath unto the now wife of the said Jos King one entire suit of clothes every thing belonging to it also I give unto Page Margt the wife of Jn Page of Earls Colne in the county aforesaid the sum of 10li of lawful money of Great Britain also I give and bequeath unto Eliz King daughter of the abovesaid Jos King 60li and all the goods in the parlour chamber and the iron back and the iron grate in the parlour also I give unto Wm son of Jn Page 20li also to Jn Page another son of the said Jn Page 20li also to Sam Page another son of the said Jn Page the sum of 20li also all my linen and wearing apparel whatsoever and wheresoever except what I have given to her mother I give unto the said Eliz King also I give unto Dan Newman my servant man 5li also I give unto Margt Sawkins my maid servant 5li also I give and devise unto Jos King son of my said nephew Jos King of Sible Hedingham aforesaid all those my two freehold messuages or tenement with all and singular the lands woods grounds and hereditaments whatsoever to the same messuage or tenements belonging or appertaining with the appurtenances now in the occupation of myself and Jn Taylor situate lying and being in the several parishes of White Colne and Colne Engaine aforesaid commonly cal led or known by the name of Cattleys to hold the same unto the said Jos King the son and heirs of his body lawfully begotten and for default of such issue then to his sister Eliz King aforesaid and her heirs forever also I give and devise unto the said Joseph King the son all that my 3r of meadow called Long Croft and all those lands called Much Readings holden by copy of court roll of the manor of Colne Priory situate in Colne White aforesaid and in my own occupation to which said Jos King the son I give all the rest and residue of my personal estate and appoint the said Jos King the younger sole executor of this my last will and testament he paying my two servants their legacies one month next after my decease and also paying and discharging the other legacies mentioned above that is to say the Pages with debts funeral charges and probate of this my last will within twelve months next after my decease and I make void all other wills and writings and declare this to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 21.6.1741 mark Cath Kent signed sealed published and declared by the testator to be her last will and testament in her presence attested by us Jn Davis mark Ellin Hull Isaac Potter
