in the name of god amen I Jn Hudson of the parish of Colne Engaine in the county of Essex yeoman being weak in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory thanks be to god for it therefore do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following hereby revoking all former wills by me made and as to that worldly estate which it has pleased god to bless me I dispose thereof as follows first I give and devise all that messuage and farm lands and tenements with their appurtenances situated lying and being in Earls Colne in the county aforesaid and now in the tenure or occupation of Jn Unwin his assign or assigns unto my loving wife Martha Hudson and her heirs forever item I give and devise unto my said loving wife Martha Hudson all that house now in our own occupation and where we now dwell situate lying and being in the parish of Colne Engaine in the county aforesaid with all the yards gardens and orchards thereto belonging to her and her heirs forever item I give and devise unto my brother Wm Hudson of Braintree weaver a house lying and being in Great Coggeshall in the county aforesaid and now in the tenure or occupation of Jeremiah Rogers and Martha Spurgeon to him and his heirs forever item I give and devise to my said brother Wm Hudson 50li of good and lawful money of England to be paid him by my executor or executrix herein after mentioned item I give and devise to my cousin Wm Hudson son of my brother Wm Hudson 30li of good and lawful money of England to be paid by my executor or executrix item I give and bequeath to my brother Rich Hudson sailor 5s item I give and bequeath to my cousin Mary Turner daughter of my sister Martha Turner 20li of good and lawful money of England to be paid by my executor or executrix item I give and bequeath to my cousin Jn Hudson of Braintree aforesaid weaver 30li of good and lawful money of England to be paid by my executor or executrix item it is my will and devise that the above four legacies viz that to my brother Wm Hudson and that to my cousin Wm Hudson and that to my cousin Mary Turner and that to my cousin Jn Hudson be paid them six months after my decease by my executor or executrix and my will and meaning is that in case any of my money which I have lent out upon bond or other security should happen to be lost that all and every one of those four legatees shall bear an equal share of the loss according to the proportion of his legacy and also my will and meaning is that in case any of these my legatees should differ and cause any law suit that then such so differing shall receive only 5s and shall be excluded from the benefit of his her or their legacies as above item I give and bequeath all the rest and residue of my goods chattels bills bonds mortgages book debts and all other my personal estate whatsoever after these my legacies debts funeral charges and probate of this my will be discharged and satisfied to my said loving wife Martha Hudson lastly I nominate and appoint my said loving wife Martha Hudson aforesaid and my cousin Peter Pain of Feering in the county aforesaid executrix and executor of this my will and my will and devise is that my said cousin Peter Pain shall have and receive 5li of good and lawful money of England to be paid him by my executrix for the trouble he may have in executing this my last will and testament contained in one sheet of paper in witness whereof I the abovesaid Jn Hudson the testator have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal this 15.11.1749 Jn Hudson signed sealed and published and declared by the above Jn Hudson the testator in the presence of us Mary Gibson Joseph Bott Wm Bott
