in the name of god amen I Wm Burch of the parish of Earls Colne in the county of Essex innkeeper being in good health and sound mind memory and understanding thanks be to god for it do make publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following (that is to say) first I give and devise unto my loving wife all that my copyhold messuage or tenement with the yards gardens outbuildings and appurtenances thereto belonging known by the name or sign of The George situate lying and being in Earls Colne aforesaid and holden of the manor of Colne Priory and wherein I now do dwell to have and to hold the same to her own use and benefit absolutely during the term of her natural life and from and immediately after her decease I give and devise the said copyhold messuage or tenement with the yards gardens outbuildings and appurtenances thereto belonging to my son Wm Brazier Burch to him his heirs or assigns absolutely and for ever also I give and devise to my son Wm Brazier Burch all that my freehold field or parcel of ground and all and every other the premises which I may hereafter erect upon it with their and every of their appurtenances thereto belonging called or known by the name of Three Corner Croft situate lying and being in Earls Colne aforesaid to his own use and benefit during the term of his natural life and from and after his decease then I devise the said freehold field together with the premises or buildings which I may hereafter erect upon it with their and every of their appurtenances thereto belonging to the first son of the body of my son Wm Brazier Burch lawfully issuing and to the heirs male of the body of such first son lawfully issuing and for default of such issue then likewise to the second third and every other son of my said son Wm Brazier Burch successively as they shall be in seniority of age and priority of birth and the the several and respective heirs male of the bodies of every such second third and other son or sons (the eldest such son or sons and the heirs male of his body being always preferred to take before any of the younger sons and the heir male of his body) for ever and in case of all such issue male failing and that my said son Wm Brazier Burch shall leave a daughter at his decease my will is and I do hereby devise the said freehold field with the buildings which I may hereafter erect together with their and every of their appurtenances thereto belonging to such eldest daughter lawfully born to her her heirs and assigns for ever also I give and bequeath to my servants who live with me at the time of my decease £1 each to their own use and benefit absolutely and for ever to be paid to them by my executors hereafter named one month next after my decease also my will and desire is that my executors do pay or cause to be paid to eight bearers the sum of 10s each man for their trouble of carrying me to the grave all the rest residue of my estate and effects of what nature kind or quality soever the same may be (and not hereinafter disposed of) that I may be possessed of at the time of my decease after paying my just debts funeral expenses and probate of this my last will and testament I give and bequeath to my loving wife and my son Wm Brazier Burch share and share alike to them their heirs or assigns absolutely and for ever and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said wife executrix and my said son executor to this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former will or wills by me heretofore made in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 10.2.1821 Wm Burch signed sealed published and declared by the said testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence and at his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses Wm Ruffle Jn Fenton Isaac Joslin Watson
