1677 whereas Wm Barron and Kath Harding both in Halstead in the county of Essex having declared their intentions of marriage at several public meetings of the people of god called quakers in Essex which was approved of by the said meetings now these are to certify all people whom it may concern that for the full determining of the intentions aforesaid on the 15.11.1677 in an assembly of the people of god called quakers at their meeting place in Halstead the said Wm Barron did solemnly in the fear of god according to the example of the holy men of god recorded in the scriptures of truth take the said Kath Harding to be his wife and likewise she the said Kath Harding did then and there take the said Wm Barron to be her husband each of them promising to be faithful one unto the other as long as they should live he as a loving and tender husband and she as a loving and obedient wife until the lord by death shall please to separate them and we who were then present have set our hands witnesses unto the same that they were so married the day and year aforesaid Wm Bunting Wm Barron Wm Swann Wm Newman Rich Norden Wm Hallibright Jn Hiningham Francis Hunwick Allen Hunwick Rich Ellis Thos Bard Jn Isaac Edw Morley Kath Isaac sen Hannah Isaac jun Eliz Sparrow Eliz Morly etc
