the jurors for our sovereign lord the king upon their oath present that Edw Wash the elder late of Earls Colne in the county aforesaid miller on 14.10.23Geo2 with force and arms and so forth at Halstead in the county aforesaid in and upon Robt Pennock in the peace of god and of our said lord the now king then and there being did make an assault and him the said Robt Pennock did then and there with force and arms and so forth grievously beat wound and evilly intreat so that his life was greatly despaired of and other wrongs to him the said Robt Pennock did then and there do to the great damage of the said Robt Pennock and against the peace of our said lord the now king his crown and dignity puts himself with law by h is certain attorney fined 1d true bill Robt Pennock sworn in court
