by an order 26.7.1703 made on complaint by parish of Earls Colne that Thos Horne of Alphamstone on 24.6.1703 did come unto the parish of Earls Colne and there received great damage by a horse accidentally going over him and broke his leg and bruised him and he hasn't been fit to remove that the charge of the surgeon nurses and lodgings and provisions and other necessities amounting to 14li3s which justices of the peace ordered the parish of Alphamstone to defray but they didn't now the parish of Alphamstone to pay Jn Cressener esq one of the justices of the peace 11li for disbursements of Earls Colne churchwardens and overseers
