to this court came Robt Crowe and produced here in court a certain acquittance and sought its enrolment in the court roll the tenor of which is in the following words be it known unto all men by these presents that I Jn Bridge of Walsoken in the county of Norfolk yeoman have received and had of Robt Crowe of Earls Colne yeoman the full and entire sum of 23li of good lawful money of England in full satisfaction and payment for one house called The Smiths Forge with all and singular appurtenances thereunto belonging situate and being in Earls Colne aforesaid whereof I acknowledge myself fully satisfied contented and paid and the said Robt Crowe his heirs executors administrators and assigns clearly acquitted and discharged thereof forever by these presents in witness whereof I have put my hand and seal this 29.9.2Jas1 etc Jn Bridge read signed sealed and delivered in the presence of us Jn Pearson by me Francis Hampton writer
