whereas at a court here held wednesday being 22.5.1605 it was shown by the homage that Mary late wife of Geo Moulde one of the sisters and coheir of Jn Barrette deceased who held for herself and her heirs from the lord by the rod etc one customary cottage with garden with appurtenances called Boxted as it is clearly divided and shown by the metes and bounds after the last court died and that Roger Moule is the son and next heir of the said Mary and because no one came to that court to take the premises out of the hands of the lord therefore there was a precept to the bailiff to seize into the hands of the lord a half of the said cottage and other premises with appurtenances and to take the profits thereof to the lord etc now to this court came the aforesaid Roger Mould and sought admittance from the lord to the said half of the cottage and other premises with appurtenances to whom the lord by his steward granted seisin thereof to have the said half cottage and other premises with appurtenances to the same said Roger Moule his heirs and assigns to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine as is shown in the margin
20s however fealty was respited and he was admitted thereof tenant of the lord and because the aforesaid Roger is under age namely     years or thereabouts therefore custody both of his body and of the said premises was committed to the aforesaid Geo Moulde his father until the aforesaid Roger should reach the full age of twenty one years and the said Geo gave to the lord a fine for such custody as is shown in the margin and he was admitted thereof tenant of the lord
