whereas at a court here held wednesday being 22.5.1605 it was shown by the homage that Mary late wife of Geo Moulde one of the sisters and coheir of Jn Barrette deceased who held for herself and her heirs from the lord by the rod etc one tenement with garden adjoining etc with one croft of land adjoining the said garden called Higgins lying in Holte St with appurtenances before this court died and that Roger Moulde is son and next heir of the said Mary and because no one came to that court to take the premises out of the hands of the lord therefore there was a precept to the bailiff to seize into the hands of the lord half of the said tenement with appurtenances and to return to the lord thereof the profits etc now to this court came the aforesaid Roger Moulde and sought from the lord admittance to the said half of a tenement with appurtenances to whom the lord by his steward granted seisin thereof to have the said half of the said tenement with appurtenances to the same said Roger Moulde his heirs and assigns to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord for a fine as is shown in the margin fealty however was respited thereof tenant of the lord | |
