whereas at a court here held friday being 18.8.1581 Agnes Haynes was admitted tenant of the lord for herself and her heirs to half of one croft of land sometime of Jn Bridge lying above Colneford Hill now it is shown by the homage that the aforesaid Agnes Haines after the last court and before this court died solely seised of the said half of the said croft of land in her demesne as of fee and that Rich Haines gentleman is son and next heir of the said Agnes and should have the right to the said premises who the same said Rich came to this court by Jn Pierson as his deputy and attorney in this part and sought from the lord admittance to the aforesaid half of the said lands with appurtenances to whom the lord by his steward granted thereof seisin to have to the same said Rich Haines his heirs and assigns to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine as is shown in the margin fealty however was respite d and he was admitted thereof tenant of the lord
