whereas at a court here held monday being 12.12.1586 Thos Bridge was admitted tenant of the lord for himself and his heirs to one piece of land late parcel of Chiffen lying next to the land of Thos Otes now built on containing 7a3r16p with appurtenances lying in the aforesaid Earls Colne as by the metes and bounds etc upon the condition of the payment of divers sums of money to Ann Bridge Mary Bridge and Agnes Bridge sisters of the aforesaid Thos Bridge at certain days and places still to come in the manner and form as shown by a copy of a roll of the same said court here in court now produced and shown now it is shown by the homage that out of court and after the last court the aforesaid Thos Bridge surrendered the aforesaid piece of land with appurtenances into the hands of the lord by the hands of Robt Cobbe instead of the bailiff in the presence of Jn Warde and Thos Smithe customary tenants of the lord the same testifying according to the custom of the aforesaid manor to the use and behoof of Jas Pennock and his heirs upon the condition that the said Jas Pennocke his heirs or assigns should pay or cause to be paid to Ann Bridge Mary Bridge and Agnes Bridge sisters of the aforesaid Thos Bridge within six years following after the decease of Margery mother of the aforesaid Thos Ann Mary and Agnes in the south porch of the parish church of the aforesaid Earls Colne 20li of good and legal english money namely for each of them 6li13s4d and if it should happen that any of the aforesaid sisters should die unpaid before the aforesaid six years are up that then the said sum which should be paid to the same said sister or sisters by agreement should be paid by dividing it between the same or the daughters of the same at that time living and if there should be default in payment of the same said 20s or in any parcel thereof at the time and place specified against the intention and form above mentioned then to the use and behoof of the aforesaid sisters or any of them which at time still survive and their heirs and assigns and the heirs of those who then are dead if they should have heirs of their bodies legitimately procreated and their heirs and assigns who the same said Jas Pennocke present here in court sought for himself admittance thereof to whom the lord by his aforesaid steward granted thereof seisin to the same said Jas and his heirs upon the aforesaid condition to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine as is shown in the margin and he made fealty to the lord and was admitted thereof tenant of the lord
