whereas at a view with court held for the aforesaid manor 27.5.last it was shown by the homage of this court that Wm Harrington senior out of court namely 19.9.1623 surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Adam Pollye instead of the bailiff in the presence of Jn Reade and Dan Lea two customary tenants etc all that close or parcel of land called The Harrowe containing by estimation 4a more or less lying in Great Maplestead to the use and behoof of Peter Elliston and his heirs now to this court came the aforesaid Peter Elliston in person and sought admittance to the close or aforesaid parcel of land according to the tenor of the aforesaid surrender to whom the same said Peter the lord by his aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have to him the aforesaid Peter Elliston his heirs and assigns forever to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents customs and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he made therefore fine and fealty to the lord and was admitted etc
