at this court it was shown by the homage that Thos Prior senior customary tenant of this manor after the last court and before this court viz 9.5.1633 surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Wm Fosset instead of the bailiff in the presence of Jn Reade and Jas Pennocke two customary tenants of the aforesaid manor the same testifying according to the custom of the aforesaid manor all that piece or parcel of land with appurtenances called Loveland or by whatever name it is called containing by estimation 12a more or less now in the tenure and occupation of the said Thos Prior or his assigns to the use and behoof of Edw Creffeild of Chappell alias Pontsbright gentleman and his heirs forever upon condition that if the aforesaid Thos Prior his heirs executors or assigns should pay or cause to be paid to the said Edw Creffield his executors or assigns in one whole payment 62li8s of legal money of England in or upon 10.11.next following the date of the aforesaid surrender in or at the dwelling house of the said Edw Creffeild situated in Chappel alias Pontesbright that then the aforesaid surrender should be void and of no force otherwise it should stand in full force and effect
