and furthermore it was shown by the homage that Geo Potter customary tenant of this manor held for himself and his heirs by the surrender of Thos Hutton and Joan his wife of one messuage or cottage with garden adjoining with appurtenances called Middlehouse as by a court roll bearing the date 11.6.1593 it is clearly shown after the last court and before this court viz 3.10.1632 surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Simon Ive instead of the bailiff in the presence of Edw Cressner and Jn Brownson two customary tenants of the aforesaid manor the same testifying according to the custom of the aforesaid manor the aforesaid messuage or cottage with garden adjoining with appurtenances to the use and behoof of Robt Hutton his heirs and assigns forever who present here in court humbly sought admittance to whom the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have the aforesaid messuage and other premises with appurtenances to the aforesaid Robt Hutton his heirs and assigns forever to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord for his fine and made fealty and was thus admitted tenant
