and furthermore it is shown by the homage that Jn Wade customary tenant of this aforesaid manor after the last court and before this court viz 13.6.1633 surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Jn Buttoll instead of the bailiff in the presence of Jn Reade and Jn Brewer two customary tenants of the aforesaid manor the same testifying according to the custom of the aforesaid manor one piece or parcel of land containing by estimation 2a more or less in the tenure of Wm Brewer or his assigns one head thereof abutting towards the east upon a way leading from Earls Colne to Great Tey the other head abutting upon a certain messuage called Burtons to the use of the said Wm Brewer and his heirs forever upon the condition that if the aforesaid Jn Wade his heirs executors and administrators should pay of cause to be paid to the aforesaid Wm Brewer his executors or assigns 12li9s7d of legal money of England in and upon 15.12.next following the aforesaid surrender at the dwelling house of the said Wm Brewer situated in Great Tey that then the aforesaid surrender should be void and of no force
