and furthermore whereas at a court here held 27.12.1639 Thos Wade was admitted tenant of the lord for himself and his heirs to one cottage and 5a of land with appurtenances called Burtons as by a roll of the aforesaid court it appears now at this court it is shown by the homage that the aforesaid Thos Wade after the last court viz 12.1.1641 surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Jn Reade instead of the bailiff in the presence of Jn Brewer and Thos Harvy two customary tenants of the aforesaid manor the same testifying one parcel of the aforesaid land called Burtons containing by estimation 2a2r one head thereof abutting upon the lands called Burtons towards the west the other head abutting upon lands called Cony Leys and another head abutting upon land called Largose towards the south east and another head abutting upon the tenement called Burtons to the use and behoof of Wm Brewer of The Crosse in Tey Magna his heirs and assigns forever who present in court humbly sought admittance to whom the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the aforesaid parcel of land with appurtenances to the aforesaid Wm Brewer his heirs and assigns forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord for a fine and made fealty
