and afterwards into this court came the aforesaid Thos Harlakenden senior who was admitted to the aforesaid tenement or cottage with garden and rentery called Ruffles with appurtenances and to the aforesaid piece of land late parcel of land called Barnehawes enclosed with fences and ditches at a court here held 2.4.1639 and he surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of the aforesaid steward the aforesaid tenement or cottage with garden and rentery with appurtenances and the aforesaid piece of land parcel of Barnhaws with appurtenances to the use and behoof of Xoph Mathew and Bridget his wife and the heirs and assigns of the said Xoph forever who present in court humbly sought admittance to whom the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the aforesaid tenement or cottage with garden rentery and piece of land with appurtenances to the aforesaid Xoph and Bridget and the heirs of the said Xoph forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and they made fine and fealty
