whereas at a court here held 19.5.1619 Jn Church was admitted tenant of the lord for himself and his heirs to one piece of land next to Burrowes Bridge called Inhams and whereas at a court held for the aforesaid manor 21.10.1646 it was shown by the homage that the aforesaid Jn Church on the 5.10.1646 surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Jn Reade instead of the bailiff and in the presence of Robt Carter and Jn Brewer two customary tenants of the aforesaid manor the same testifying the aforesaid piece of land with appurtenances to the use and behoof of Wm Ennew grandson of Hen Ennew and the heirs of the said Wm forever as by a roll of the aforesaid court it appears now to this court came the aforesaid Wm by Phil Ennew his deputy and humbly sought admittance to the premises to whom the same said Wm by the hands of his said deputy the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the aforesaid piece of land with appurtenances to the aforesaid Wm Ennew his heirs and assigns from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord for a fine and because the aforesaid Wm Ennew is under age viz aged 3yrs or thereabouts therefore custody of the aforesaid lands was granted by the lord and delivered by the rod by the aforesaid steward to the aforesaid Phil Ennew until the full age of the said Wm of twenty one years and to return to him thereof account at the said age and for such custody he gave to the lord for a fine and made fealty
