whereas at a court here held 20.10.1625 Jn Hawksby clerk and Dionisia his wife were admitted tenants of the lord for their lifetimes and to the longer liver to divers parcels of land called Pristland and Dagnallhill containing by estimation 22a of land both lying and being in Earls Colne as they are divided by the metes and bounds the remainder thereof to Rich Hawksby his son and the heirs of the said Rich forever as by a roll of the aforesaid court it appears now at this court it is shown by the homage that the aforesaid Jn Hawksby about seven years ago died and that the aforesaid Dionisia herself survived and that after the last court the aforesaid Dionisia died upon which came here into court the aforesaid Rich Hawksby and humbly sought admittance to the aforesaid premises to whom the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the aforesaid parcel of land called Pristland and Dagnall Hill to the aforesaid Rich Hawksby his heirs and assigns from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he made fine and fealty
