at this court it was presented by the homage that Hen Abbott the elder who held to him and his heirs two crofts of land called Perriscrofts also Cokescroft and one parcel of land with a pit in the same late parcel of certain lands called Sedcopps and containing by estimation 1a2r since the last court died thereof so seised which premises the said Hen Abbott at a court held for the said manor 16.1.1650 did surrender into the hands of the lord of the said manor by the hands of his steward to the use of his last will and testament whereupon at this court came Robt Abbott son of the said Hen Abbott by Hen Abbott the younger as his attorney and deputy and showed forth in court the last will and testament of the said Hen Abbott his father bearing date 30.7.1654 the tenor whereof concerning the premises concerning the premises is in these words item I give and bequeath to Robt Abbott my son all those my five closes of land and 1a3r of meadow being copyhold containing in all by estimation 18a be they more or less called or known by the several names of Hussies Chewnisland Sandhills Perriscroft also Cockyscroft and Sandalls or by whatsoever other name or names the same be called or known to have and to hold all the said lands with the appurtenances to the said Robt Abbott my son during the term of his natural life and after his decease to his heirs lawfully begotten of his body etc as in and by the said will it doth and may appear and thereupon the said Robt by his said deputy desired to be admitted tenant to the same to whom the lord of the said manor by his said steward did grant and deliver thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said two crofts of land called Perriscrofts also Cockscroft and the said parcel of land with the pit in the same late parcel of Sedcops to the said Robt and his assigns for and during the term of his natural life and after his decease to the heirs of his body lawfully begotten of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents services and customs due etc and he gave to the lord for a fine
