Jn Hutton to Middlehouse | at this court it was presented by the homage that Robt Hutton a customary tenant of the said manor since the last court that is to say upon 12.10.last did surrender into the hands of the lord of the said manor by the hands of Jn Wade instead of the bailiff and in the presence of Giles Crow and Mich Hayward two customary tenants of the said manor the same witnessing all that his copyhold cottage or tenement called The Middlehouse lying in Holstreete in Earls Colne with the buildings yards gardens and appurtenances to the same belonging to the use of Jn Hutton son of the said Robt Hutton and of the heirs and assigns of the said Jn forever which premises the said Robt did take to him and his heirs at a court held for the said manor 12.6.1633 and thereupon the said Jn Hutton being present in court desired to be admitted tenant to the same to whom the lord of the said manor by his said steward did grant and deliver thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said cottage with the appurtenances to the said Jn Hutton his heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents and services due and he gave to the lord for a fine |
