Magdalen Lea to a cottage etc | at this court it was presented by the homage that Dan Lea a customary tenant of the said manor since the last general court that is to say upon 1.6.1657 did surrender into the hands of the lord of the said manor by the hands of Wm Adams instead of the bailiff and in the presence of Mich Hayward and Ann Hayward two customary tenants of the said manor the same witnessing all that his copyhold cottage and the use of a well to the same belonging and one parcel of land containing in length 6rod and in breadth to one head thereof 3rod and to the other head thereof 3rod with the appurtenances then in the occupation of the said Dan to the use of Magdalen Lea sister of the said Dan and of the heirs and assigns of the said Magdalen forever which premises the said Dan did take to him and his heirs at a court held for the said manor 29.12.1640 to which said Magdalen by the hands of Robt Lea her attorney and deputy in that behalf desiring the same the lord of the said manor by his said steward did grant and deliver thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said cottage and parcel of land with the appurtenances to the said Magdalen her heirs and assigns forever of the rd by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents and services due and she gave to the lord for a fine |
