at this court it was shown by the homage that Margt Ludgater widow late wife of Jn Ludgater clerk deceased after the last court viz 6.10.16Chas2 surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Wm Adams senior instead of the bailiff and in the presence of Sam Burton and Thos Wade two customary tenants of the aforesaid manor the same testifying etc all those lands with appurtenances called Haynes and Clotes containing altogether by estimation 8a more or less to the use and behoof of Robt Harris of Earls Colne his heirs and assigns forever which premises the aforesaid Margt took for herself and her heirs after having recovery thereof at a court here held 1.8.13Chas2 upon which came into court the aforesaid Robt Harris and sought for himself admittance as tenant of the lord for the premises to whom the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the aforesaid lands called Haynes and Clotes with appurtenances to the aforesaid Robt Harris his heirs and assigns forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord for a fine and made fealty
