Rosemund Harvey to lands called Seven Acres and a pightle of land at this court it was shown by the homage that Thos Harvy customary tenant of the aforesaid manor after the last court viz 25.9.1668 surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Robt Lambe instead of the bailiff and in the presence of Mich Hayward and Giles Crow two customary tenants of the aforesaid manor the same testifying etc four crofts of land lately two crofts called Seven Acres and containing by estimation 5 a more or less with a messuage and other buildings built upon it with appurtenances lying altogether between a lane leading towards Bowerfield on one part and lands called Slowcroft and Debenhams on the other part and one pightle containing 2r lying next to the king's highway there and next to Burtonfield and used with the aforesaid messuage to the uses and behoof in his testament and last will declared or to be declared and afterwards and before this court he died thus seised thereof and upon this came here into court Rosamund Harvy widow late wife of the said Thos and produced here in court the testament and last will of the said Thos in writing bearing the date 25.9.1668 proved before Thos Exton doctor of law and chief officer of the archdeaconry of Colchester 4.12.1668 the tenor of which testament in the following english words item I give to Rosamund my wife all that my copyhold messuage or tenement situate and being in the parish of Earls Colne and four crofts of land belonging to the same all holden by copy of court roll of the manor of Colne Priory to the only use and behoof of Rosamund my wife and to her heirs forever and upon this the aforesaid Susanna (sic) sought for herself admittance as tenant of the lord to the premises to whom the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the aforesaid messuage and all other premises with appurtenances to the aforesaid Rosamund her heirs and assigns forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and she gave to the lord for a fine etc
