admission of Eliz Josselin | whereas at a court here held 13.7.1664 Thos Josselin took for himself and his heirs by copy of court roll one croft of land called Doddingpole Hoe and also the aforesaid Thos Josselin took for himself and his heirs by copy of a court roll bearing date 24.7.1650 one close or parcel of customary land called Sawyers containing by estimation 4a now at this court it is shown by the homage that the aforesaid Thos Josselin on 23.5.last by the rod surrendered the premises into the hands of the lord by the hands of Wm Holton instead of the bailiff and in the presence of Ralph Josselin clerk and Robt Finch customary tenants of the aforesaid manor to the use and behoof of Eliz Josselin one of the daughters of the aforesaid Ralph and the heirs and assigns of the said Eliz forever who the same said Eliz present here in court humbly sought from the lord admittance for herself to the premises as tenant to whom the lord by his steward granted and delivered seisin thereof by the rod to have and to hold the aforesaid croft and close with appurtenances to the same said Eliz her heirs and assigns from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and she gave to the lord for a fine etc |
