whereas at a court here held 6.10.1673 Eliz Josselin now wife of Gilb Smith was admitted to her and her heirs to one croft of land with appurtenances called Doddingpole Hoe and also to one croft of land called Sawers with appurtenances containing by estimation 4a more or less now at this court it appeared to the homage that 10.7.1683 the said Gilb Smith and Eliz his wife the said Eliz solely examined by the steward and consenting surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of the steward all and singular the premises aforesaid to the use of Jn Josselin gentleman his heirs and assigns forever on the condition following that if the said Jn Josselin his heirs and assigns do not well and truly pay the said Gilb and Eliz his wife for and during the term of the life of Jane Josselin widow and mother of the said Eliz annually 4li at the usual feasts that is the annunciation and michaelmas by equal portions the first payment to be made at michaelmas next following then this surrender to be void which Jn Josselin present in court petitioned of the lord admittance etc to whom by the steward there is seisin delivered to have and to hold the said premises to the said Jn Josselin his heirs and assigns of the lord etc and he gave the lord for fine etc
